caregivers.co.ke is a directory, not an agency. We put trained Kenyan caregivers in front of the families who need them, show the honest detail on both sides, and then get out of the way.
Why we exist
Finding a caregiver in Kenya usually means asking around, calling an agency, and paying a fee before you have met anyone. The caregiver, on the other side, waits for an agency to call her and then loses a share of her salary every month for the privilege.
Both sides are paying for a problem that a good directory solves. So we built one. 14 caregivers, 35 services to filter by, and a paid access pass that puts a family and a caregiver in the same WhatsApp conversation once, not on retainer.
How we work
- No placement fee. No commission. Ever.
- Agencies in Kenya routinely charge a placement fee and then take a cut of the caregiver's monthly salary, for as long as they work for you. We do neither, and never will — whatever you agree with a caregiver is entirely theirs. Browsing and filtering every profile is free. A KSh 500 pass, valid 7 days, unlocks contact details for the caregivers you have shortlisted; caregivers separately pay a small subscription to be listed. Neither payment touches a caregiver's salary.
- The caregiver keeps their whole salary.
- When you agree KSh 30,000 a month with a caregiver, she receives KSh 30,000. We are not a middleman and we never invoice you for her work. Better pay means caregivers stay in jobs longer, which is better for the family too.
- We check the certificate, not just the claim.
- A Verified badge means our team has seen the original training certificate and national ID, and confirmed the school and qualification shown on the profile. It is not a police clearance or a background check, and we say so plainly on every profile — you should still interview and take references.
- Real detail, not sales copy.
- Every profile shows the services offered, years of experience, school and year completed, level of education, languages spoken, expected monthly salary, day rate, and the exact days and hours the caregiver is free. You decide before you call, not after three phone calls with an agent.

Kismet International College graduates are listed free for two years.
Kismet is our training partner, and its students and graduates get a full 24 months on the directory at no cost — including the Verified and Featured badges, and placement on the home page. We do this because a caregiver who has just finished college is exactly the person who cannot afford a subscription and most needs the work.
What we are not
- We are not an employment agency. We do not place caregivers, write contracts, or manage anyone's work.
- We do not run background or criminal record checks. Please request a police clearance certificate yourself if you need one.
- We do not handle salaries. You pay the caregiver directly, on whatever terms you both agree.
- We are not liable for what happens after you make contact. Interview carefully and take references — the same as you would for any hire.
